The Humanitarian

Although Phamie is hugely career driven creatively, musically and artistically, she also has a strong desire for peace, justice and positive change in the world. Throughout the years, she has been involved in numerous charity events. She was the originator and creative director of ‘A Cry Out for Chile’, a fundraising concert involving musicians from Scotland and Chile to raise money for the victims of the shocking earth quake and tsunamis which struck Chile in 2010. All the money raised was given to The Chilean Red Cross and The Victor Jara Foundation in Chile.

Phamie was invited by Philip Glass to perform centre stage, with the Patti Smith Backing Band in The Carnegie Hall, New York City for the annual Tibet House Fundraising concert in 2008. On that night, Phamie also collaborated with Marisa Monte (Brasil), Ashley MacIsaac (Canada), Nawang Khechog (Tibet), Rae Davies (Scotland) and others.

Previous to that concert, she was asked to perform for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit to Scotland. The event took place in The Usher Hall where Phamie played her composition ‘The Stone Dance of the Chameleon’ and also accompanied child singer Amy Moar with ‘The Why of a Miracle’. This song was recorded with Amy and all the proceeds and royalties have been donated to an orphanage in India.

Phamie has recently been appointed by The Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland to be their Ambassador.
